Small Business Idea: Market Your Local Business Online

A great marketing idea for small business is to use the World Wide Web to grow your local business?

To many small business people, it's just not immediately obvious what good a GLOBAL medium can do for a LOCAL business with LOCAL clients. So...we want to show you why LOCAL businesses, with LOCAL clients, absolutely NEED to use this GLOBAL medium called "the Internet," and SOON, or their LOCAL competition is going to eat their lunch...

The SBI! Small Business Locator "Find YOUR Small Business (Or Idea)"

Do you have a small business (1-10 employees), that is largely offline? Are your clientele mostly local? If you do, a Web site is a must. Use it to grow your business locally and, in many cases, to extend your market globally...read on! If your small, local business does not use a Net presence to promote itself, keep in touch with its customers, extend its reach, and take your competitors' customers, your competitors will do it to you, and soon.

You probably think nothing about forking over $100-$500 (or more) per year to maintain some sort of Yellow Pages listing. BUT...do you realize that more and more, your potential clients are forsaking those great, big, heavy paper Yellow Pages. Your potential customers are NOT letting their "fingers do the walking." To find what they need, they are using their fingers to click at Google or Yahoo! or MSN, and other search engines to find a business that may only be minutes away from them!

Think of a Web site as a multi-full-page Yellow Pages ad that gets 100 more results for your local business at 1/10 of the price. Cover every business category and geographic region for a fraction of the cost of a single Yellow Pages ad. There's very little you can say about your business in a tiny little rectangle.  Worst of all, you have no idea how many exposures your ad gets...  100? 1,000?  Who knows? And ROI (Return on Investment)?  Forget it. How can you measure it?  You can't.

Of course, the beauty of the Net is that the smallest of companies can compete on the same footing as the biggest of companies.  You can pull targeted traffic to your site (by building pages that focus upon frequently searched keywords applicable to your theme).  And you can certainly tell how many times an interested party arrives at your Web site. A Web site that works is the most cost-and-time efficient way to grow your business.

Gain control of your region. Attract new local (and global!) customers. Get the jump on your competition. Build loyal lifetime customers. Open up new revenue streams.

Site Build It (SBI) is the affordable, all-tools-in-one-place solution you need to build and host a Web site that WORKS. If you can use e-mail and surf the Web, you can create a professional-looking, traffic generating, sales producing site. SBI! does all the hard stuff, it's removed the need to know HTML, do ftp, hire designers, programmers, and Search Engine experts. You just focus on your business.

Let's use a local landscaper as an example of how a local business would function online. A local landscaper could show some of the beautiful jobs he's done, list all his services, keep an e-zine to stay in touch with his clients all year along (reminding them when it's time for spring cleaning and aerating and fertilizing, too, of course!). He could build his business, take clients from his competition, and build loyalty among his existing clients.

The potential of online marketing is enormous and, at this point, remains virtually untapped. In SiteSell's free Service Sellers Masters Course, they detail exactly how service sellers (local or global in their approach) can use the Net to expand their service-selling businesses by attracting and PREselling new clients (an e-zine really helps for this), *AND* create new streams of additional income.

How? Here are two very feasible revenue stream-builders...

1) Affiliate programs -- Turn semi-targeted visitors, who may not need your service right now, into customers. Service sellers with locally based businesses can direct traffic to the merchants' sites that they represent. This strategy allows them to generate income from visitors who live close by and beyond -- even across the world!

And for affiliate service sellers with higher priced services (be they local or global), they can offer visitors the lower cost *related* products that they represent.

2) E-books and e-goods -- Package and sell your knowledge and experience. And at the same, credentialize your service. (This type of trust-building is especially important, if you are offering a higher priced service.)

A Web site will nurture, encourage and develop the relationship you already maintain with current customers. Second, it can, through both local promotions and listings, and through the Search Engines, bring new business. Third, e-zines cement lifetime loyalty. Fourth, people have an inherent interest in the local community, and in what's going on directly around them. They will visit a local Web site, *if* you make sure they know about it. And once they are there, it's your business they see, not your competitor's.

I hope that you're beginning to realize that no matter what you happen to be doing, the Net is a cost-efficient (heck, downright cheap) way to build your local business. If you are a real estate agent, landscaper, restaurant owner, health practitioner, artist, alarm system distributor, boutique owner, lawyer, carpenter, house cleaner, caterer, plumber, electrician, contractor, repair technician, graphic artist, mechanic, accountant...whoever you are and whatever you do...Only Site Build It! delivers Web sites that WORK!
